As the nation’s Total Mobility and Logistics Solutions Provider, Toyota Lanka marked an important step in its island wide expansion with the groundbreaking of its new Jaffna facility on 17 September 2026 at Kandy Road, Navatkuli, Chavakachcheri, Jaffna. The development strengthens Toyota Lanka’s presence in the Northern region and brings its trusted mobility and after-sales solutions closer to customers and businesses in Jaffna and surrounding areas.
The upcoming facility will provide Brand New Toyota Vehicle Sales, Toyota Genuine Spare Parts, professional vehicle servicing, and Body & Paint repair services, together with a range of logistics solutions for business and commercial customers. By bringing these services together in Jaffna, Toyota Lanka aims to offer greater convenience and dependable support to customers across the Northern region.
The expansion also reflects Toyota Lanka’s 30 years of excellence in Sri Lanka as the country’s only authorized distributor for Toyota, continuing to build on the trust and reliability associated with the brand. Over the years, Toyota Lanka has expanded its presence beyond vehicle sales to deliver a broader range of mobility, after-sales and logistics solutions across the country.
The groundbreaking ceremony was graced by Mr. Masaaki Kawabata, Chairman of Toyota Lanka, and Mr. Manohara Atukorala, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Toyota Lanka, together with government officials, representatives of the Tri-Forces, spare parts dealers from the Jaffna region, banking and leasing partners, customers, business partners and other distinguished guests. Religious dignitaries also joined the occasion, while traditional cultural performances reflected the unique identity of Jaffna.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Masaaki Kawabata highlighted Toyota Lanka’s “Best in Town” concept, emphasizing the company’s ambition to bring advanced Toyota technology, trusted standards, and a high-quality customer experience closer to the people of Jaffna. He noted that Toyota Lanka’s regional expansion is focused not only on establishing facilities, but also on becoming a trusted and dependable partner within the communities it serves.
Continuing the message, Mr. Manohara Atukorala reflected on Toyota Lanka’s long-standing aspiration to establish a stronger presence in Jaffna, a vision that dates back more than 20 years. He highlighted the company’s belief that its presence in a town should contribute to the development of the wider community through mobility, employment, and skills development. He also emphasized Toyota Lanka’s commitment to creating opportunities for young automotive professionals through the Toyota Lanka Auto Academy, enabling them to develop their talents in line with international Toyota standards. The Academy has also extended its technical training expertise to participants from nine Asian countries, providing wider exposure to Sri Lankan automotive talent.
Toyota Lanka also extended its contribution to the Chavakachcheri Pradeshiya Sabha with the provision and installation of 50 new street nameplates. The initiative demonstrates Toyota Lanka’s commitment to contributing beyond mobility by supporting the everyday development and needs of the communities it serves.
Toyota Lanka’s continued expansion is built around Toyota LIFE – Loyalty, Integrity, Fairness and Ethics – together with a strong focus on reliability, long-term customer relationships and dependable after-sales support. These principles continue to shape the company’s approach as it brings trusted mobility and logistics solutions closer to more communities.
From the South to the North and from the East to the West, Toyota Lanka continues to strengthen its nationwide presence with one clear objective: to be closer to its customers and deliver the highest standards of service and support wherever they are. The new Jaffna facility marks another important step in that journey and the beginning of a stronger relationship with the Northern community.
