ASOCIO Elects 2027–2028 Board and Welcomes New Global Partner from Uzbekistan at Jakarta General Assembly

The Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) elected its Board for the 2027–2028 term and formally recognised the Government of the Syrdarya Region, Republic of Uzbekistan, as a new Global Partner at its General Assembly in Jakarta on 5 October 2026.

The assembly was held as part of the ASOCIO Digital & AI Summit 2026, taking place from 5–7 October at Swissôtel Jakarta PIK Avenue. Representatives of member economies across Asia–Oceania gathered to review the organisation’s progress, strengthen regional cooperation and set its strategic direction for the next phase of development.

The election marks an important leadership transition for ASOCIO. The incoming Board will guide the organisation’s growth, strengthen engagement among member economies and expand opportunities for collaboration across the region’s digital technology industry.

The transition comes as rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI), growing cybersecurity needs and digitalisation across industries reshape the regional economy. These developments underscore the need for cooperation that connects industry priorities, public policy and technological innovation.

The assembly also formally recognised the Government of the Syrdarya Region, Republic of Uzbekistan (GSR), as an ASOCIO Global Partner. This expands the organisation’s international partnership network and opens opportunities for technology collaboration, knowledge exchange, investment and business connectivity.

The partnership is expected to help member economies engage with additional markets, expertise and technology development opportunities. It also supports ASOCIO’s efforts to extend the benefits of digital transformation through stronger cross-border relationships.

Throughout the assembly, ASOCIO reaffirmed its commitment to digital transformation, trusted AI, cybersecurity and innovation. Policy dialogue and cooperation among members remain central to its agenda for building secure, resilient and connected digital economies.

The outcomes in Jakarta provide a foundation for ASOCIO’s next chapter: strengthening its role as a platform connecting member economies, deepening international partnerships and advancing collaboration that delivers benefits for industry and communities across Asia–Oceania.
