As SL enters Formula 3 territory: Maliban partners Yevan David

Maliban Biscuits has announced a partnership with Sri Lankan racing driver Yevan David ahead of his participation in the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Championship.

At 18, David will become the first Sri Lankan to compete in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. He has raced on European circuits and progressed through several international motorsport categories.

David began his career in go-karting at the Sri Lanka Karting Circuit before moving to competitive karting in Singapore. His achievements include winning the IAME Asia Series (X30 Cadet) and the X30 Asia Cup.

He transitioned to single-seater racing in 2024, competing in the UAE Formula 4, Spanish Formula 4 and Eurocup-3 championships. During his Euroformula Open debut at Monza, he recorded two race wins. In 2025, David secured the Euroformula Open Rookie title and finished second overall in the championship.

Commenting on the partnership, Yevan David said: “Partnering with Maliban means a lot to me. They’ve supported Sri Lankan sport for generations, so having them beside me as I take this next step feels special. I’m proud to carry our flag forward with a brand that believes in our country’s potential as much as I do.”

Maliban has supported Sri Lankan sport across multiple disciplines, including rugby, hockey and cricket. Its initiatives include support for the New Zealand U85kg Rugby Tour of Sri Lanka, school-level hockey, the Sri Lanka U19 Women’s Cricket Team, the U20 Men’s and Women’s rugby teams, Sri Lanka Rugby at the Asia Rugby Qualifiers, and domestic competitions such as the Inter Club Rugby League and the Clifford Cup Knockout Championship 2025/2026.

The partnership will support David’s participation in the FIA Formula 3 Championship during the 2026 season.
