Amy’s Heaven Hotel Wadduwa, Profits to Maintain Pets Care Home

Amy’s Heaven, the all-cabana boutique type beach frontage Resort in Wadduwa, has become the only South Asian hotel that utilises all its profits to maintain a Pets Care Home in Bandaragama. This care home is spread out in a five-acre land which now houses over 400 cats and dogs. The concept was created by its founder, Chairman Hector Rondon Fuentes from Venezuela, and his spouse, Krishanthi from Sri Lanka. 

“We first opened this facility in Skelton Road, Colombo 5, and due to space constraints and other issues, shifted it to Bandaragama. To sustain the Care home, we invested around Rs. 10 million and opened Amy’s Heaven recently. To give more luxury to our guests, we also added a swimming pool with many other luxury features to the hotel, and we will soon introduce an authentic Ayurvedha spa and a BBQ station as well. Due to this unique CSR concept, the five-villa property overlooking the Indian Ocean has developed a pet-friendly clientele from both overseas and locally. Our pet-friendly environment is designed to make both the guest and pets feel at home, and this too is well accepted, especially by our local guests that come with families,” said Chairman Fuentes. We have marketed our hotel in Europe, UK, and India and during the season we have long stayers and repeat guests as well. In addition to maintaining the Care Home in Bangaragame, our teams also engage in dog sterilisation programs as well as other welfare programs for cats and dogs free of charge,” says UK volunteer, M. “We are also looking at local corporate sector assistance towards breeding these initiatives.”

Head of Marketing, Asela Nanayakkara said that they are opening the hotel for corporate outings as they have a large garden space and beach frontage for activists. “Amy’s Haven offers three beautifully designed villas with a total of 5 independent double bedrooms, with modern amenities which can be booked by room or by villa, providing the ultimate tropical experience.
