Associated Motorways (AMW), Nissan’s authorised distributor in Sri Lanka, unveiled the Nissan Tekton at its Union Place showroom in Colombo on Thursday, adding a new model to the country’s Nissan SUV range.
The launch comes as Nissan marks 75 years of SUV production. AMW Group Managing Director Jawahar Ganesh said the company has a long standing partnership with the Japanese carmaker and aimed to strengthen Nissan’s presence in the market
The Tekton, which carries a five-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP, will be offered in four variants with turbocharged engines and a choice of transmissions
The event was attended by media representatives and AMW executives, including Sales Director Prasanna de Silva and Nissan Head Jagath Wijesekera.
AMW also signalled plans to bring the Nissan Navara pickup to Sri Lanka in the near future, though the company said any introduction remains subject to further evaluation and confirmation.
Founded in 1949, AMW has been part of the Al-Futtaim Group since 2008
