Amber warm advisory issued for several areas

The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber-level warm weather advisory for the North Central and Eastern provinces, as well as Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Vavuniya, Monaragala and Hambantota districts.

The heat index is expected to reach the “Caution” level in some areas during the daytime.

The public has been advised to stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor activities, as prolonged exposure to the sun could cause fatigue and heat cramps.
