Alumex wins Bronze Award at 'National AI Awards 2026' for AI based product innovation

Alumex PLC, a member of the Hayleys Group and a leading aluminium manufacturer in Sri Lanka, has won the Bronze Award under the category of 'Best AI Solution in Manufacturing & Industry 5.0' at the 'National AI Awards 2026' held on 30th September 2026. The award was presented under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Economy.

The award was given for the innovation of the Extruder Production Monitoring System and the Smart Real-Time Energy Monitoring and Analytics System for Aluminium Products. It has an AI-enabled 'Golden Batch' feature for digitization of design framework. The award recognizes and honors the company's use of AI and data analytics to advance production monitoring with process consistency and energy management in the company's production operations. Moreover, the solution provides a real-time view of design processes and manufacturing processes, and its AI-powered 'Golden Patch' analyzes product data to identify process changes, improve patch consistency, and support faster and data-driven decisions. The Smart Real-Time Energy Monitoring and Analysis System monitors energy consumption throughout the production process. This helps to identify opportunities to improve energy use and increase operational efficiency.
