Alann Lopez appointed as CEO of Omnicom Media Group Sri Lanka

The current COO of Omnicom Media Group (OMG) Sri Lanka, Alann Lopez, has taken the helm as the new CEO. With over 25 years of experience, Alann’s career journey has been nothing short of epic.

His career in advertising began in 1998 at Thompson Associates Limited (TAL) as a Trainee Account Executive. From there, he went on to work at Grant McCann Erickson (now Dentsu Grant), Masters DDB, and Lowe LDB (presently MullenLowe). In 2004, Alann switched gears, founding his own agency, 5th Elephant, with some like-minded colleagues, which he successfully managed for over thirteen years. His journey came full circle in 2017 when he returned to OMG Sri Lanka as COO.

As a passionate adman for many years, he discovered a newfound love for conceptualised out-of-home advertising. A former Benedictine and Alethean, he draws inspiration from his love of Liverpool FC, tennis, and global icons such as Rajinikanth, Jurgen Klopp, and Gordon Ramsay.

Beyond his professional achievements, Alann also leads the Sri Lankan chapter of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies (4As), demonstrating his commitment to advancing the advertising industry in Sri Lanka. He has served on the 4As board for over eight years, holding the positions of Director and General Secretary before becoming President in 2023.

As a leading global media network, OMG’s client-first, data-led, and people-powered mantra helps brands evolve for the future. Since aligning with the Omnicom Group in 2000, the TAL Group has managed a diversified range of global brands, leveraging a vast network of resources to deliver top-tier solutions for local clients.

Exciting times are ahead, as Alann’s era promises to bring out-of-the-box thinking and drive innovation at OMG Sri Lanka, offering brands higher ROIs.
