68SLT-MOBITEL hosts its annual health camp in celebration of Vesak
In celebration of Vesak, SLT-MOBITEL, the National ICT Solutions Provider, extended the gift of wellness to communities by hosting its annual Health Camp at the SLT-MOBITEL Regional Office in Matara recently, offering residents access to vital healthcare services free of charge.
Conducted under the company's 'Sabendiyawa Dahami Sathkaraya' community programme and its ESG commitments, Health Camp 2026 provided a comprehensive range of medical services and preventive healthcare, including blood testing, hearing examinations, eye screening and eyeglass donations, medical consultations, and general health check-ups.
Furthermore, experienced medical professionals were on hand throughout the day, ensuring personalized care and thorough assessments for all participants. More than 500 residents from the Matara area benefited from this initiative, which also included health awareness programmes, blood sugar and blood pressure testing, and several other medical services.
The Health Camp was jointly organized by SLT-MOBITEL and eChannelling, underscoring the company’s continued commitment to integrating traditional healthcare services with digital innovation. The initiative was further strengthened through the valuable support of key partners, including Asiri Hospital Matara, Wickramarachchi Opticians, Maliban Biscuits, Cycle Pure, and ORB Collective, each of whom contributed to enhancing the range and quality of services provided to the community. In line with this commitment, the initiative also supported the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), reinforcing efforts to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being at all ages.
aBuilding on the success of previous Vesak-season Health Camps conducted in Ratmalana and Gampaha, this year’s initiative reaffirmed SLT-MOBITEL’s strong commitment to corporate social responsibility and community wellbeing. Aligned with the spirit of Vesak, the programme brought compassion, care, and essential medical support to communities, further strengthening SLT-MOBITEL’s role as a trusted partner in advancing both technological progress and social upliftment in Sri Lanka.
