SLB officials welcome Badminton Doubles Champions

Sri Lanka’s dynamic badminton duo, Hasini Ambalangodage and Hasara Wijeratne returned home after their stellar performances in tournaments held in Zambia, Botswana, and South Africa. With one gold from Botswana and two silver medals from Zambia and South Africa to their name, the young champions Hasini and Hasara have proven their mettle on the international stage, making their nation proud. Infact Botswana tournament gold medal created history making Sri Lanka’s first ever women’s double victory at a BWF International level 3 tournament. These victories are also important to improve their world rankings .

Sri Lanka Badminton General Secretary Ajith Wijayasinghe and Assistant Secretary Lakshmi Punchihewa led the warm reception, joined by former National champion Chandrika de Silva at the BIA.

Upon reaching the Sri Lanka Badminton Headquarters, the duo was surprised by a heartwarming reception hosted by the Executive Members and President Rohan De Silva.
