Shinnyo-en Lanka Preschool's 33rd Annual Blood Donation Program: A Triumph of Compassion and Community Spirit

Continuing its legacy of community service, Shinnyo-en Lanka Preschool, operated by Shinnyo-en Japan, held its 33rd Annual Blood Donation Drive recently at the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS) in Narahenpita. The event underscored Shinnyo-en Lanka's dedication to fostering compassion and social responsibility.

Reflecting on the event’s impact and the community's remarkable involvement, Director Ikeda Mikinori of Shinnyo-en Lanka Preschool said, “The blood donation program truly embodies the core principle of selflessly serving others, a belief that our Founders deeply held as the fundamental Buddhist principle of ‘Dana’ or selfless giving. Such compassionate actions align perfectly with our aim to instill values such as empathy and altruism within our students while providing them a wholesome education.”

Since its inception in 1987, Shinnyo-en Lanka Preschool has provided free, top-tier education for children aged 3 to 5, combining Montessori techniques with the National Policy on Preschool Education.
