Severe lightning advisory issued for several areas.

The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for severe lightning until 11.00 pm today(12).

Thundershowers with severe lightning are likely in the Western, North-Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces.

Galle and Matara districts are also affected.

Temporary strong winds may occur during thundershowers.

The public has been advised to take precautions against lightning.
