Scope Cinemas and Liberty Lands Unveil Sri Lanka’s First Outdoor Hollywood Film Launch with Superman

In a bold cinematic first, Scope Cinemas, in partnership with Liberty Lands, and in collaboration with Havelock City Mall, hosted Sri Lanka's first-ever outdoor public event to launch a Hollywood film with the epic arrival of Superman, directed by James Gunn. Titled #LookUpColombo, the event turned the Colombo cityscape into a canvas of light and spectacle, marking a milestone in the country's entertainment landscape.

Held at the forecourt area of Havelock City Mall, the launch featured a dynamic lighting show, building wall mapping with Superman visuals, and a stunning fireworks display---bringing together loyal DC fans, movie enthusiasts, and media in awe of the Man of Steel's return.

More than 140 specially invited media and press guests were given exclusive access to a pre-release screening at 8:00 PM on Screen 01, following the outdoor showcase which began at 7:00 PM. The public also took part in the excitement with a Fan First Early Access IMAX screening, all held two days ahead of the official national release.

"This is the kind of moment we've dreamed of creating---where cinema and city collide in spectacular fashion," said Chassy Cortes, Head of Marketing & PR at Scope Cinemas. "With #LookUpColombo, we didn't just screen a film. We sparked a new standard for how Sri Lanka celebrates world-class cinema."
