Ratnayake’s century guides Sri Lanka ‘A’ to 2-0 series win

Pavan Ratnayake made a sparkling knock of 116 in 67 balls with 11 fours and 7 sixes as Sri Lanka ‘A ‘ defeated South Africa’ A ‘ by five wickets in their second four day game played st Benoni on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka ‘ A ‘’ chasing a target of 254 runs to win the game while Pavan Ratnayake was leading from the front to make superb knock well supported by Skipper Pasindu Sooriyabandara who scored 67 balls 52 with 6 fours also added 136 fourth wicket stand to reach their target .

Earlier South Africa ‘A’ scored 334 all out and they posted 238 runs for 9 wickets before declaring their second innings. Dewald Brevis and Jean du Plessis top scored for the hosts with knocks of 74 and 48 respectively.

Sri Lanka ‘A ‘scored 319 all out in their first innings with opener Lahiru Udara 129 and Skipper Sooriyabandara 92 made useful knocks to build up the innings.

With this victory Sri Lanka ‘A’ completed a 2-0 clean sweep over South Africa ‘A’ while they also clinched the ODI series win 2-1 before this four day series and completed very successful South Africa tour .
