President to inaugurate programme to restore religious sites damaged by Cyclone Ditwah

The government stated it will launch a national programme, “Godanagamu Adhishtanaye Sanhinda”, to restore religious sites damaged by Cyclone Ditwah.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will inaugurate the programme tomorrow(27) at 10:00 a.m. at Sri Bodhirukkarama Viharaya, Gampola, and at 3:00 p.m. at Kawatayamuna Purana Rajamaha Viharaya, Matale.

The Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs stated that restoration work will cover over a thousand damaged religious, cultural, and archaeological sites, guided by venerable Maha Sangha and religious leaders.
