PMF Finance PLC Appoints Prof. Ajith Medis as Chief Executive Officer

Prof. Medis brings over 30 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry, coupled with an impressive academic and professional background that will undoubtedly contribute to the company's growth and strategic direction.

With an extensive career in the financial sector, Prof. Ajith Medis has held key leadership roles that have shaped his deep understanding of finance, operations, and strategic management. Prior to joining PMF Finance, Prof. Medis served as a lecturer at the University of Kelaniya for over two decades. His industry experience includes serving as Senior Manager at Peoples' Merchant Bank PLC,  as a Marketing Executive at Lanka Orix Leasing Company PLC, and as a Management Trainee at Mitsui & Co.; Prof. Medis's contributions to the finance sector extend beyond his direct roles. He has served as a Director at Alliance Finance PLC and as a Board Member for several non-financial sector firms. Further, he has contributed to the uplift of over 20 NBSL sector firms by way of consulting and coaching. His expertise spans a broad range of areas, including branch operations, sales, recoveries, deposit mobilization, and leasing and gold loan facilities. His strategic insights have helped shape business transformations and operational excellence for many organizations across Sri Lanka.

Prof. Medis holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Special) Hons. Degree from the University of Kelaniya, an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayawardenepura, and a PhD in Strategy from the Management and Science University of Malaysia. His academic credentials, combined with his practical expertise, have made him a sought-after consultant in the finance industry, where he has provided strategic guidance to over 20 finance companies in various capacities.

In his new role as Chief Executive Officer at PMF Finance, Prof. Medis will be responsible for overseeing the company's day-to-day operations while spearheading its long-term strategic initiatives. He is expected to drive operational efficiency, optimize financial services, and lead the company's efforts in expanding its market presence.
