In the 82nd Layton Cup Boxing Championship organized by the Sri Lanka Boxing Institute, Hasitha Nuwan of the Sri Lanka Police Boxing Club won the Jinadasa Trophy in the men's 48 kg category.

Ishara Thushari Perera of the Sri Lanka Air Force who competed in the women's 50 kg weight class of this year's tournament, which ended at the Negombo Beach Park, was selected as the best athlete.
