Gold prices in Sri Lanka rise by Rs. 12,000

Gold prices in Sri Lanka have surged by approximately Rs. 12,000, following a rise in global gold rates. 

Traders at Colombo Sea Street reported that the price of a 24-carat gold sovereign has increased to Rs. 380,000 as of today (3), up from Rs. 368,000 yesterday (2). 

Similarly, the price of a 22-carat gold sovereign has risen to Rs. 349,000 from Rs. 338,000. 

The global price of gold per ounce was recorded at $4,816 today.
