Edu ministry launches scholarship program for high achievers

The Ministry of Education has announced a new initiative aimed at supporting top-performing students.

The program will provide scholarships to students who pass the G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) examinations with high Z-scores, enabling them to pursue degrees at prestigious international universities of their choice.

Deputy Minister Madhura Seneviratne confirmed that a total of 200 scholarships will be awarded through this scheme, offering students the opportunity to advance their education abroad.

Already, 32 students have been selected in the first stage of the program, marking the beginning of what is expected to be a significant step in fostering academic excellence and global opportunities for Sri Lankan students.
