29The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the Renewable Energy Resources Development Plan 2025–2030.
The plan targets meeting 70% of Sri Lanka’s electricity demand from renewable energy by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
The Cabinet noted that the plan was prepared by the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority in line with national policy.
Approval was granted for implementation following a proposal presented by the Minister of Energy.
