Ashok Garments Pvt Ltd honoured with BWIO Excellence Award in Garment/Textile Industry

Ashok Garments Private Limited, a leading manufacturer and exporter of superior industrial uniforms, has been recognised with the BWIO Excellence Award in the Garment/Textile Industry (Large - Platinum category) at Business World International Awards 2023. The award was received by Ashok Garments Founder and Chairperson, Mrs. Ashoka Gunawardena at the award ceremony held at Taj Samudra Hotel in Colombo on 17th May, 2024. Established in 1987, Ashok Garments has built a reputation for delivering high-quality industrial apparel to a diverse clientele across Canada, the United States, the Middle East, Italy, and the United Kingdom. With a sprawling factory spanning over 26,620 sq. ft. and a workforce of approximately 250 employees, the company boasts an impressive production capacity facilitated by over 150 state-of-the-art sewing machines.

A proud alumna of Vijitha Central College - Dikwella, Ashok Garments Founder/Chairperson Mrs. Ashoka Gunawardena holds a BA degree (Sri Lanka), a Diploma in Business Management - 1st Class (India), a Diploma in Human Resources Development - 1st Class (India) and an MBA from the University of Honolulu, USA. She also serves as the Director of Lizzy B Canada Pvt Ltd (importing of orthopedic items), MAS Traders, Pearson Enterprises Pvt Ltd, Hemshi International Pvt Ltd and Samara Jathika Wyaparaya Pvt Ltd. She has been honoured with the Gold Award at the National Industrial Development Board Awards - 2023, the Diriya Kaantha Award at Shrama Abimani - 2019, and the “Deshamanya” title, Sri Lanka's second highest national honour, and was also honoured with an Excellance Award at Unique Gold award - 2023. She has also been appointed as a Justice of Peace (Whole Island) by the Government. Ashok Garments has recently been honoured with the Asia Award by the World Research Congress, and it will be formally received in August 2024 in India.
