Vidullanka PLC has disclosed entering into an agreement with a consortium led by SELTech International (Pvt) Limited to collaboratively develop the 4.9MW Beliatha Solar Power Plant in Hambanthota. The agreement, finalized on May 31, 2024, marks a move by Vidullanka PLC into renewable energy development.
The project, estimated to involve approximately LKR 1 billion in investment, will establish the Beliatha Solar Project (Pvt) Ltd., in which Vidullanka PLC will hold a majority stake of 50.1%. This initiative underscores Vidullanka PLC's commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio and contributing to Sri Lanka's sustainable energy objectives.
A subsequent announcement detailing further specifics will be made following the commissioning of the Beliatha Solar Power Plant.
